![]() ![]() The district offers many extracurricular activities, and 8th graders are encouraged to apply for high school programs offered by the Middlesex County Vocational and Technical Schools. Serving students from pre-K to 12th grade, the district has just over 1,200 students enrolled and around 100 classroom teachers. If schools are a priority, you'll be very impressed with Dunellen Public Schools. The park district offers many different team sports and activities for all ages, including classes and clubs for preschool ages. In fact, anyone that needs transportation services can reach out to the community center to reserve free rides to shopping, doctor appointments, and more. The community is known for serving its citizens, and besides annual events and festivals, they also offer services for their senior and disabled residents. Today, Dunellen is a very family-oriented community - with highly rated schools, plenty of parks, and lots to do. The Art Color factory, built in 1925, was Dunellen's primary industry and would distribute up to 10 million magazines a month. ![]() Once a railroad station was built in the late 1860s, the town began to grow.
